Upcoming ARTSPARK AT YOUNG CIRCLE events

Received this email yesterday from the City of Hollywood about some upcoming events at the park that has been such a central part of my dismay and disgust with the current govt. officials in the City of Hollywood.

Thursday, November 15th, 2007 on the Amphitheater Stage in ArtsPark at Young Circle from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m., Thunderhead will be performing their diverse blend of classic rock, blues and country. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair and enjoy music under the stars. FREE.

Saturday, November 17 ArtsPark at Young Circle will host the 2nd Annual HOLLYWOOD'S BATTLE OF THE BANDS from 5 - 10 p.m.
Amateur band finalists perform cover and/or original music in front of independent judges and a live audience for the chance to win cash, recording time at the Sunflower Recording Studio & equipment from Guitar Center. FREE.

Sunday, November 18th, 2007 on the Amphitheater Stage in ArtsPark at Young Circle from 1 - 2 p.m., Freddick Bratcher and Company will be performing a Storydance on ANANSI the spider. Through modern dance, Freddick Bratcher and Company presents the story of Anansi the mischievous spider. Anansi and his cast of characters will leap from the storybook pages as this magical folk tale comes to life through dance, music and narration. FREE.

Sunday, November 18th, 2007 in the Dance Studio Visual Arts Building in ArtsPark at Young Circle from 2:30 - 4 p.m., Charles Williams of the Freddick Bratcher Company will instruct a Young Dancers Workshop. This high energy and fun-filled Contemporary Dance Class, taught by company member Charles Williams, will include a blend of jazz and modern movements. Appropriate for ages 8-15. All skill levels are welcome. FREE for ACCH members, $5/child for non-members.

Sunday, November 18th, 2007 in the Plaza in ArtsPark at Young Circle, from 2 - 4:00 p.m., the Mike Gerber Trio will perform exciting jazz music for your enjoyment. Find a space on one of our park benches or bring a lawn chair to enjoy Sunday afternoon jazz. FREE.
